SCB AssocIATES AT SuNKERI - KARWAR
SCB Associates at Sunkeri are 13 in number. From August 2022, we had regular meetings without fail.
On 26 September the SCB associates renewed their promises at Mass with a special liturgy prepared and celebrated that culminated with the breakfast.
Every month on the last Thursday we gather at 4.00 pm for Vespers . Word of God is read and the reflections are shared among the group. We also pray for the various needs of our world, the church, synod, congregation , families, children, youth, and vocations to religious life and to our congregation , sick and home bound, victims of disasters, leaders, etc.
In the month of October we had rosary in the families. Each one shared reflections on the virtues of Our Blessed Mother Mary in turns. We also participated in the novena for the feast of St. Charles before the celebration.The associates regularly visit the sick, the aged and the home bound; attend funeral services and accompany the bereaved families.
They reach out to help the poor families when they are in trouble and sick as well as provide them with medicines free of cost, donate blood if needed, visit the hospitals and if needed stay in the hospital in order to support them and also give some financial help. They have shared food grains and ration kits with some poor families. They spend time to listen to the needy and render their service in whatever way they can.
SCB associates participate in church activies, like preparation of liturgy, decoration, cleaning the church and church compound thus rendering their sevice as being part of the bigger community.
